Jenna Fischer has become best recognized for her role as Pam Beesly, the character she portrayed on The Office. In the course of playing this part, Jenna was honored with two SAG Awards in Outstanding Ensemble Comedy and also an Emmy Award for Best Supporting Actress.
Her birthplace and childhood was in Fort Wayne in Indiana. Jenna was a child who watched her mother, Anne performing in church plays. It instilled in her an interest in theater.
A trained theater actress, Fischer returned to her roots following the completion of The Office. The Off-Broadway production Reasons to be Happy composed by Neil LaBute with Josh Hamilton and Leslie Bibb as co-stars, Fischer was the lead. After starring in Steve Martin's new production Meteor Shower (an absurdist comedy featuring Greg Germann and Josh Stamberg), she performed in at the Old Globe Theatre's record-breaking world premiere.
In October 2019, Fischer and The Office cast-mate and real-life best friend Angela Kinsey started the podcast Office Ladies on the Earwolf platform. It has grown to been a huge success, landing on the Top Ten globally every week and registering more than 200 million downloads in the first two years. Office Ladies received the iHeart Radio Podcast of the Year award in January 2021.
The Actor's Life was her first novel, and describes the path she traveled to get from St. Louis, Missouri to Hollywood and then to Hollywood, where she was an actor professionally. Her next book, Office BFF's (co-authored by Angela Kinsey) is a memoir of her most beloved friend as well as their time at The Office.
