Anna Leigh Ashford
Annaleigh Amanda Ashford was born in the US. She is an actress, singer and dancer. Her early appearances on Broadway include the productions Wicked Legally Blonde and Hair. Her performance on stage in You Can't Take It With You as Essie Carmahiel earned her an award for the Tony Award in Best Featured Female Actor in a Play. Annaleigh Ashford Tony Award winner actor has worked with a variety of acclaimed actors and directors in stage films and television. Ashford continues to build on her award-winning career through her forthcoming projects. Ashford's next venture will be an exclusive Hulu show called Welcome to Chippendales, created by Robert Siegel. The show will premiere on the 22nd of November and Ashford plays opposite Kumail Najiani. Ashford is currently in production for Searchlight Pictures' horror thriller Dust which stars Sarah Paulson and Ebon Moss-Bachrach. As it is a Hulu Original, the film will be available on Disney DTC's platform. The film will premiere in March 2023. Ashford returns to Broadway and play alongside Josh Groban in the revival of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. Thomas Kail as director and Jeffrey Seller as producer will be the creative team for the production. Ashford has most recently played Paula Jones in the new Ryan Murphy FX series American Crime Story Impeachment that is based upon the national crisis that swept into Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky and Linda Tripp as principal characters in the country's first impeachment proceedings in over a century. Ashford starred for two seasons on the CBS hit comedy B Positive. It was produced by Chuck Lorre with Marco Pennette. It featured Linda Lavin as well as Hector Elizondo as well as Ben Vereen. Ashford is no stranger to Broadway. Her performance as Essie in You Can't Take It with You was a winner of the Tony Drama Desk Awards and Outer Critics Circle Awards. Other Broadway credits for Ashford include Sunday in the Park, in which she starred with George Wicked legally Blonde, as well as the role of Lauren In Kinky Boots. For this performance she received an Tony Award nomination. She was born and grew up in Denver Ashford now splits her days between Los Angeles and New York.
